About Us

JOIN OUR COACHING TEAM! The Foothills Skating Club (FSC), established in 1960 in Black Diamond, Alberta, is seeking a passionate, Skate Canada-certified coach, with a team-coaching mindset, to join our club. FSC offers the PreCanSkate, CanSkate, PreStarSkate, StarSkate and AdultSkate programs. Our programs provide opportunities for skaters of all ages and abilities to learn, develop, and enjoy skating. We are looking for a coach who values collaboration, supports skater development, communicates positively, and wants to contribute to a welcoming, team-oriented club environment. If you are passionate about skating and interested in growing with a club that has proudly served our community for over 60 years, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

Be minimum Regional Coach In Training (CanSkate Trained would be considered)
Available 5-8 hours per week
Be a Skate Canada registered coach in good standing
Provide a copy of your coach dashboard

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a CanSkate and StarSkate Coach to join our Coaching Team and growing group of skaters. Roles would include Group lessons as well as semi-private and/or private lessons, and potential to assist in leading Off-Ice Training sessions. Attending FSC Board meetings as required.

Skills

The successful candidate will:

Have good communication skills
Be organized and able to effectively manage their time
Be able to work with other coaches and the FSC Board
Be up to date on Skate Canada Program Standards and Competition Requirements
Experience with choreography is an asset (but not required)

Time Commitment

We will have ice available for 8 hours a week, both afternoons and mornings.
