The Foothills Skating Club (FSC) began in 1960 in Black Diamond, Alberta. Many young skaters have enjoyed the various programs we have to offer. Our CanSkate and PreCanSkate programs are designed for all types of learn-to-skate, hockey or recreational skaters, while our StarSkate program (including Pre – StarSkate) offers opportunities to develop figure skating skills. We also offer AdultSkate which offers opportunities to adults who want to learn the fundamentals or advance their already established skating skills. All of our programs are sanctioned by Skate Canada, following the Long Term Development Plan, meant to allow individuals to participate in skating for life.
The successful candidate will:
Be minimum Regional Coach In Training
Available 5-8 hours per week
Be a Skate Canada registered coach in good standing
Provide a copy of your coach dashboard
We are looking for a StarSkate Coach to join our Coaching Team and growing group of skaters. Roles would include Group lessons as well as semi-private and/or private lessons, potential to assist in leading Off-Ice Training sessions, and potential to assist with our CanSkate program. Attending FSC Board meetings as required.
The successful candidate will:
Have good communication skills
Be organized and able to effectively manage their time
Be able to work with other coaches and the FSC Board
Be up to date on Program Standards and Competition Requirements
Experience with choreography is an asset (but not required)
We will have ice available for 8 hours a week, both afternoons and mornings. The successful coach should be available for a minimum of 5 hours per week (availability to coach full hours).
StarSkate, Off-Ice Training, possibility of CanSkate
